Stained Glass Design by Rosemarie Brown
Rosemarie had made a custom door and window for this family and when they came back to see her, the husband brought an 8 foot dome (looked like a canoe) that he had made out of wood.
There was a great bar in their home and he had cut a domed hole in the ceiling above the bar and wanted to have Rosemarie continue her design of their door and bring it into the bar ceiling.
Rosemarie cajoled her wonderful husband, Mike, to make a special platform for the wooden dome model. Then she covered the dome with paper and began to draw her design.
Birds, bumble bees, dragon flies along with the deep oranges and multi hued green leaves began to come to life.
As she began cutting the glass, she used a special putty to have it adhere to the dome in the designated pattern spot.
It's getting there. Just a couple hundred more pieces and it will be ready to solder.
Thousands of pieces of glass are now cut, foiled, assembled, and ready to solder.
Mike, Rosemarie's husband, is called into service again to made a special soldering table to have gravity assist with the administering of the molten hot solder.
That's Barbara, friend, cohort & great solder helper
Again, Mike is called to make a cradle for the dome to solder the inside and give it support...almost done!
One month and thousands of pieces of glass and the dome is complete!
